An Exclusive Connections Conversation with Michael Melford

National Geographic Photographer Michael Melford has produced 18 stories for National Geographic Magazine and over 31 stories for National Geographic Traveler magazine, including nine covers. His work for the National Geographic Magazine celebrates the marvels of our National Parks including Acadia, Glenn Canyon, Great Smoky Mountains, Waterton/Glacier, and Death Valley—while also working to preserve their beauty. In 2014, Melford’s story celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act was voted the second most popular story of the year by readers. When not shooting for National Geographic, Michael enjoys teaching workshops through National Geographic Expeditions.
